🌿 Monthly Tai Chi Workshop

First Saturday of Each Month

Cocoon Studio

Service Description

What is Tai Chi? We’re excited to offer Tai Chi as a regular monthly workshop, taking place on the first Saturday of each month. As we look at the complex art of 'Tai Chi', we will attempt to answer this question and others while introducing the fundamental points of the mechanics of movement and the 'energetic' aspects of practice, as well as the relationship between mind, body, and spirit that emerges. Some other questions for discussion are what are the levels of self-defense in Tai Chi? How do I refine and develop my Tai Chi? What is the difference between method and technique? How do I put principles into practice? How do the 'internal' and 'external' arts come to exist and what are their differences and similarities? This workshop is open to anyone beginning Tai Chi or Qi Gong as well as more experienced practitioners at all levels, and any friends and relatives who are curious. Tai Chi Workshop will be led by Howard Latting. Howard is a prominent martial arts instructor in NYC. He holds a 7th degree black belt, was awarded the title of Master, and has over 40 years of experience. He emphasizes personal instruction and community building within the World Martial Arts Association, based in Brooklyn, NY, and serving various parts of the city.
